What a whirlwind!

After we announced Pistol Whip at E3 2019, it quickly became one of the most highly-anticipated VR games of the year — right up there with AAA blockbusters like Asgard’s Wrath.

At OC6 in September, we dropped a new trailer and gave our first full look at the game with an exclusive demo in the halls of the McEnery Convention Center. This was our first Oculus Connect since OC3, and it was amazing to catch up with all the latest innovations from Oculus and old friends alike.

Reception to the Pistol Whip demo was flabbergasting, with developers, streamers, and youtubers banding together in droves to see what was going on. We demo’d nonstop throughout the day and into the night at the Indie Lounge to endless praise.

The hype continued to build as the F-Reality crew and VRespawn team each named Pistol Whip their game of the show, beating out Stormland and the newly-revealed Medal of Honor VR. Plus, our latest trailer continued to rack over 20k combined views in just 3 weeks.

After OC6 we started working behind-the-scenes with a number of partners including UploadVR (who flew out to our studio for an interview) and LIV to deliver the first full-length gameplay video captured entirely in mixed reality.

Mixed reality with LIV is one of the best ways to view Pistol Whip, and we can’t wait to see what the community does with it when the game launches November 7 on PC VR and Oculus Quest.

Next up we’ll be givings demos, talks, and taking meetings at the annual VR/AR Global Summit in Vancouver, as well as the State of VR meetup with the Vancouver VR Community.

As launch draws closer, we’ll also have new gameplay and reveals as we count down the days until November 7. Expect a first-look at first-person gameplay, song reveals, and an expanded beta period giving preview access to your favourite content creators and news sites.

Until then, make sure to wishlist the game on Steam, Oculus Rift and Quest (with crossbuy!), and Viveport
